OhioHealth is involved in extensive research to develop
and test better medications and treatments and more effective technology. We are involved in several types of
research:
- Some research is initiated by drug and device
companies looking to test their investigational products at a large facility
associated with excellent clinicians. This is industry-sponsored
research.
- A clinician wishes to test a theory for patient
treatment or otherwise accumulate valid data addressing a clinical
controversy. This is investigator-initiated
research.
- Governmental or private agencies may fund a particular project
that addresses the needs of the public and for which OhioHealth
provides an ideal setting. This is Federal and Foundation
Funded Research.
